Im having issues with certain sections of some tapes, where I have to constantly ride the tracking buttons to get a stable picture if I get any at all. dv then will convert via Handbrake into mp4 later on. Right now I export all finished projects back into. Ive been able to convert a bunch with pretty good results, nothing fancy like color grading or anything, but simple straight transfers. Most of these tapes are from 1984-1987 and have been in storage since then. However there are a few tapes with massive problems on them. Im using a Canon Elura 100 MiniDV cam that has pass-thru via firewire into my Mac Mini 2012 using Imovie 9. Im converting old family VHS tapes over to mp4 format so I can stream them via DLNA and upload to youtube to share with others.
